What a pleasure....

I had the pleasure to present our virtual school champion, Senator Dan Patrick, with the Educator's Golden Apple award. The award was presented at an Open House for Texas Virtual Academy at Southwest at the Arboretum in Dallas, TX. It was a great experience -- even though I felt as if I had a dozen cotton balls in my mouth and my legs were made of jello.



I was honored to be able to honor Senator Patrick! Not only is our school GREAT, we also have a GREAT Senator who understands the need for virtual education and other public school options.



Senator Patrick has a great personality, and shared some stories with us about his "virtual" world. He told us how we need to pave the way, since we are Texans, and that virtual education is the way of the future.

We had an outstanding attendance! I heard that there were only 400 registered to attend and I was told that there were chairs for 500, but we had standing room only! Way to go, TXVA!!
