Felling a tree w/o a chainsaw

How to fell a tree w/o a chainsaw:
The very first credentials for this would be that you have to reside in Arkansas, or some other redneck locations, and be so out in the nowhere that you are willing to risk such an endeavor!!

First you notch out the tree with a Skilsaw,

and then you use your trusty 'ol Sawzall to cut into the tree even further. Now, you have to make sure that your tree is tied off to something, and in this case it was a truck.

Notice the straps that are tied to the bumper of this truck? The other end is tied to a tree, and then threaded around another tree......just to make sure it falls in the right direction.
When it starts to crack, you yell real loud to the driver so that he can burn rubber!!
The tree will start moving, just a little at first,

and then it will move faster and faster until it is on the ground.

One happy G-ma!! With all the fretting that the tree might damage the house on it's way down, she is really happy that it didn't!

Framing Party Arkansas Aug 8th, 9th,and 10th

Brent's Mom and Dad, Bill and Polly Roy, own a small cabin on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Since they aren't getting any younger and retirement is just around the corner, they decided to add on to make it more functional. Many different friends and family came to help with the two-story addition. It rained on and off Sat and Sun, so not as much was accomplished as everyone had hoped too. It was dried in when we all left out on Sun.
