This was the VERY best part of the weekend! Well, at least the very best thing that we ate. All thanks goes to Ashley for providing us with this To Die For flour-less chocolate cake! She served it with fresh raspberries, which were an excellent touch! I ate so much that I told her that she wasn't allowed to make it again, or at least anytime in the near future.
Saturday was bottling day for Kombucha. This is something that I've intended to blog about for quite some time, so I'll be doing that in the very near future. Kombucha is a fermented tea that is very refreshing and full of probiotics and vitamins.
Barbecued Wings: what we dined on Saturday night along with organic produce from the co-op this week. Ashley's cake was a great completion to this meal.
The newest addition at the "farm" as we call it. It is a Brahma bull calf that will eventually be another Mr. Bull . His name is Pete, since he will be a re"Pete" of Mr. Bull.
I immediately fell in love with him, he has the be the cutest calf I've ever seen!
Mr. Bull
Blair was in the pasture and Mr. Bull walked right up to her. I was standing on the other side of the fence and I know how gentle Mr. Bull is, but something about this beast walking toward your daughter and then lowering his head as he approached was just a little too unnerving. I wasn't sure if I should be ready for the picture of drop the camera and run to save her. As you can see, he just wanted a little loving. Notice that when Blair is in this position it looks like she is the same size as his head.
I saw this on my front door and was a little disturbed by it. With the abundance of lizards that we have in Texas, I'm surprised this isn't the first time this has happened. This poor lizard was on the door when it was open, but then someone shut the door and its tail became stuck between the door and the jam.
