Neglect...

I've done it AGAIN...I've neglected my blog. Life has been too busy around here for me to blog about anything, whether it's worthwhile or not! We are trying to complete 2 1/2 weeks worth of school in addition to our normal load, so that we can go on vacation and know that we don't have to come back and get in "catch-up" mode.  If I keep everything in perspective, I can endure the long days of school right now, knowing that in the not so distant future our family will disappear from here without our computers or phones and be unreachable for 18 days! I cannot believe it and  I'm sure thinking that it will be pure bliss! We are making that once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip...or at least for our family. We will be traveling to London and visiting the UK and then we will board a ship that will carry us over to France for a couple of days, and then on to Spain and Portugal. We will be out floating along in the Atlantic for 6 days.....OH, how I'm looking forward to that!

We are still planning out what we would like to do at the various ports that we will be visiting. In Cherbourg, France we would like to do a little history while we are there and visit the Normandy beaches and educate the girls on D-Day. Well, to be real truthful, I'm going to need to do a little studying up on that subject.  In Paris we will do those things that you're supposed to do in Paris. That leaves Madeira, Portugal and Vigo, Spain to decide what we would like to do there. I could just walk, and walk, and walk, and eat, and eat, and eat, and I'd be perfectly happy. I love to try new foods and see new sites, unfortunately, I'm not so sure that my children will be down with what mom wants to do. Although, Blair did tell me that she cannot wait to have afternoon tea and pastries in London.

We have just a little over a week to get prepared for our trip and we are far from being ready.  We still have a few articles of clothing that we need to buy, last minute arrangements to make, and then to figure out how to pack what we will need in one suitcase per person.  That is going to be the challenge of the week!

I hope that I'll return with lots of great photos to share and I'll be much better at keeping up with my blog.

Oh, that was another "thing" that I have been busy doing is planning a birthday party. Our youngest turns 13 today and it makes me feel so old! Here are a couple of pictures of her with her friends that she had over last weekend to celebrate her birthday.

I hope to share more pictures from the party later.
